Horror films you can watch this Weekend Vol 3

As part of our Wicked Weekend horror recomendations Allhorror has selected some great Dangerous Exploration films along with a couple of interesting Creature Features. If you haven't seen these yet and you are a fan of the mentioned subgenres be sure to check them out!

1. The Shrine (2010)

This movie is a fresh new take on the whole surviving-creepy-locals thing. Everything seems perfectly plausible, the forbidden forest is eerie and uncomfortably atmospheric, the terror is real and the plot keeps you guessing. Overall a great story, relatable characters, unpredictable mystery and several uniquely scary scenes. If you are already familiar with this one we encourage you to search through some of our lists with horror films similar in plot/style.

2. Deep Rising (1998)

This one is a 90's action creature horror. A cruise ship is hijacked by pirates who soon discover they are not the only uninvited guests on board! Great popcorn horror, so if you are having a movie night with your friends we recommend this one.

3. The Thing (2011)

A prequel to The Thing (1982) a pure masterpiece from John Carpenter. We get to see how the thing gets to the research station and the chaos that follows once the team realizes the creature feeds and asimilates on all living beings. My advice is to watch the 2011 first and follow it up with the 1982 version for maximum enjoyment of the story. The effects are good, the acting is decent and the creature is scary as hell!

For the final recomendation we prepared Black Sheep, a 2006 comedy horror. A genetic engineering experiment gone horribly awry turns a large flock of docile sheep into unrelenting killing machines in this rural horror comedy directed by Jonathan King.
