It's about group of teens at summer camp who have the misfortune of landing killer Angela as their camp leader.

Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland was directed by Michael A. Simpson (who also directed Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers) and stars Pamela Springsteen, Tracy Griffith (from The First Power) and Michael J. Pollard (from Skeeter and Split Second).

She's back to slash last year's record.

Angela's back. This time she's running a camp called Camp New Horizons which mixes up rich yuppies with poor city scum. It's some kind of weird socio economic experiment that goes nowhere and has no real point.

Sleepaway Camp 3 has no point. I don't even know why they bothered making it. It has no plot, no likable characters and no on screen kills. It doesn't even have an interesting Angela. In the original she was super shy which setup an epic twist ending. In Sleepaway Camp 2 she's over the top bubbly and outgoing. But in this one she's just bland and unlikable. You can't root for her because she's boring and you can't root for her victims because they're empty and cliche. Both prior Sleepaway Camp's featured charismatic fun characters. This one, not so much.

One of the things that held Sleepaway Camp 2 down was the fact that Angela just jumped from kill to kill with no real emotion. The kills were crazy but had no real impact only because they were so casually committed. And for some reason Teenage Wasteland doubled down on this by giving Angela even less interest and gave us even less blood. There's a lot of kills, but they're all weak. The camera either cuts away at the last moment or the victim just kinda falls over and dies. They're the worst.

This movie is B-movie trash from start to finish. The very first kill is weak, every other kill is weak and the ending is just so dumb, I can't even.

Worth Watching?

Hell no. Sleepaway Camp 3 is a waste of time. It's so bad I can't even watch the last two in the series. This movie just stole 80 minutes of my life, can't risk parts 4 or 5 stealing more. Part 4 apparently isn't even a full movie, it's a mashup of random shots and rehearsal footage. And part 5 has a reputation of being a failure of epic proportions. Cutting my losses with this series.
