Garbage Day!!

Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 Review

Silent Night, Deadly Night was a powerful movie about trauma, abuse and terror. Silent Night Deadly Night 2 was a ridiculous train wreck featuring the wildest eyebrows you'll ever see.

The first half of Silent Night Deadly Night 2 is all recap of part 1 making this movie all but maybe an hour long. Which is a good thing, it's a rough watch. It's funny of course which is what makes it a cult favorite among horror fans, but only because it's so, so bad.

In the original Silent Night Deadly Night a kid named Billy saw his parents killed by Santa. His brother Ricky was also there, but Ricky was just a baby. They both get shipped off to an orphanage where Ricky eventually sees Billy gunned down by cops as he was trying to kill their abusive mother superior. Fast-forward a decade or so and we find Ricky locked up in a mental hospital being interviewed by a psychologist, the 13th psychologist since the previous 12 apparently couldn't break through Ricky's tough shell. Well, this psychologist breaks through his shell in like 10 minutes which makes Ricky snap and go on a bizarre killing spree.

Oh, and those crazy eyebrows I mentioned before? Holy shit they're out of control.

Die hard fans of Silent Night Deadly Night 2 love it most for one particular scene that lasts all of maybe 2 seconds, but it's over the top campy. Behold the legendary: "Garbage Day!"

Oh, and the bizarre killing spree I mentioned? Basically, when Ricky sees red cloth and he murders. That's it. Oh, and when he sees people being "naughty" he murders. When he runs into annoying guys, he murders. When he sees guys throwing out their trash, he murders. It doesn't even have to be Christmas.

But hey, "Garbage Day" amirite?

Worth Watching?

Honestly, no way. One reviewer put it best when he simply said "Garbage day, garbage movie". Save yourself the torment and just watch all the funny parts below.
