She was abused and violated. It will never happen again!
This movie came across my radar after discussing other female revenge movies like I Spit on Your Grave and The Last House on the Left with some friends. I was told Ms 45 was a legendary exploitation flick, so in my mind I had already associated it with the raw grit of movies like Spit.
So Ms 45 starts and it all feels pretty tame. Then you see the first attack which is rough, but strangely mild. Then you see the second attack which is way worse, but also not terribly disturbing. The act is disturbing of course, but the vibe from the scene is not. It almost makes you feel the same lack of humanity as her attackers. After the second attack Thana, our victimized mute, just kinda goes about her life, which feels unexpected to say the least.
Then she suffers a psychotic break, triggered by the most mundane of things, which immediately sends this movie off the deep end. I wont spoil anything, but let's just say Thana starts going full May on every creep who crosses her path.
The practical effects are dated and the movie overall doesn't really stand the test of time, but the impact it leaves is 10/10, right up there with Spit and Last House.
