Lifechanger is one of the most intense and original shapeshifting movies I've seen. From the very first scene it grabs you by the face and demands your full attention. And the second scene is no less intense.
It's like Fallen in concept, where a being can jump from body to body at-will, only the transfers are way more brutal. In Fallen it only took a tap on the shoulder. In Lifechanger it involves rotting flesh, soul sucking and corpse dumping.
One thing that jumped out at me from this film, other than the sheer intensity, was the captivating cinematography. It's a visually stunning film. This was supported by the effective score, the impressive practical effects, the script and by the strong acting. Everything in this movie just works.
There are some pacing issues that develop around the hour mark which slow everything down. A full-blown romance blossoms unexpectedly, and although it has a purpose, it does pull the movie away from the horror genre for awhile.
But overall, Lifechanger is a super intense and gorybody horror that I'll be adding to my permanent collection. This is one of those movies you have to watch at least twice.
