It's about Michael Myers' second attempt to kill off his kin.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers was directed by Dwight H. Little (who also directed Anacondas: The Hunt For The Blood Orchid and The Phantom Of The Opera) and stars Donald Pleasence (from Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers and Edgar Allan Poe's Buried Alive), Ellie Cornell (from The Darkroom and House Of The Dead) and Danielle Harris (from Camp Cold Brook and Havenhurst).

Horror has returned to Haddonfield.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers Review

Michael Myers is back!

And if we're being honest it's a bit surprising considering he got shot THIRTEEN times, including taking bullets into BOTH eyeballs and was burned alive at the end of Halloween 2

Loomis is back too!

Even though he literally blew himself up in the same room as Myers. You would think he would at least look something like Freddy Krueger by now, but nope, he just has a little smudge on his cheek.

So, both are invincible. Accepted. Moving on.

Halloween 4 is basically the same movie as Halloween 1. Myers breaks out of the mental hospital, kills an auto mechanic for his uniform and drives to Haddonfield to kill his niece. Last time he tried to kill his sister, but she's gone so he targets her daughter instead. Loomis catches wind of Myers' escape and chases after him. Many of the scenes mirror scenes in the original, including the hospital scene.

It even manages to recreate the iconic scene of Myers as a little kid in the clown costume. Only this time it's his niece who wears it. Her name, by the way, is "Jamie" (as in "Lee Curtis").

The entire first half of the movie is just about Myers' and Loomis' long trip back to Haddonfield. The second half is all chasing and slashing. There's some good kills in this one and the overall body count was a respectable 15. Some of the signature kills were a thumb through a forehead, a wicked electrocution, a gut stabbing, neck stabbing, neck snapping and a brutal empaling with a rifle barrel.

Overall I thought Halloween 4 was OK. I mean, it really was the same movie as the first two (the sequel was the same movie too since it was a direct continuation). Halloween 4 came out 6 long years after Halloween 3, and people were generally upset that Myers wasn't in part 3, so I guess they were just giving people more of what they wanted. Nothing wrong with that. I just hope Halloween 5 will bring something new to the table.

Worth Watching?

I don't really think so. It's just a remake of the original.

"I met him, 15 years ago; I was told there was nothing left; no reason, no conscience, no understanding in even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this… six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and… the blackest eyes – the Devil’s eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up, because I realised that what was living behind that boy’s eyes was purely and simply… evil."
