It's about Michael Myers' second attempt to kill off his kin, again.
Halloween 2 was directed by Rob Zombie (who also directed The Lords Of Salem and Halloween) and stars Scout Taylor-Compton (from Star Light and Getaway), Sheri Moon Zombie (from 31 and The Devil's Rejects) and Tyler Mane (from 247°F).
Family Is Forever
Alright, I just want to say one thing before getting into this. In my last review of Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween remake I was a staunch supporter. I thought that remake was badass and really worked to get a rise out of a newer generation of horror fans. I loved the grit, the gore and the grungy style. I loved the story, the casting and the overall craziness.
Now with that being said, Halloween 2 was no Halloween 1.
Halloween 2 sucked balls.
The movie starts similar to how the original Halloween 2 from 1981 started out, with Myers hunting down Laurie in a hospital. It was a great start that perfectly matched the style of the previous Halloween.
Then Laurie woke up. Yep, it was all a dream.
From this point the movie went downhill FAST. The style turned bizarre with a weird dreamlike supernatural element that made no sense. Laurie quickly became seriously unlikable. She basically just screamed and cried and cried and screamed and yelled "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuuuuuuck!" throughout the entire runtime. I'm pretty sure she screamed more than Sally from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre (and man, did that woman have some pipes!). Loomis, who was a cool character in the first one, became unlikable as well. He wrote a best-selling book about Myers and turned into a slick obnoxious diva. Hell even Myers was unlikable. He didn't even wear his mask half the time, he just walked around with a hoodie looking homeless.
There were a few other big things that made this movie suck, but that would get into spoiler territory, so I'll just have to wrap this review up by saying Halloween 2 is easily Zombie's worst movie. And I've seen The Lords of Salem!

"I met him, 15 years ago; I was told there was nothing left; no reason, no conscience, no understanding in even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this… six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and… the blackest eyes – the Devil’s eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up, because I realised that what was living behind that boy’s eyes was purely and simply… evil."Halloween 2 (2009) Review is part 10 of 13 in the Halloween series
