Amicus Horror

List by penguin_pete

Amicus Productions was a UK film producer active in the 1960s and 1970s. Forming a triad with better-known Hammer and worse-known Tigon, Amicus produced horror films in direct competition with Hammer. While Hammer tended to Gothic period pieces and classic monsters, Amicus aimed to make modern, contemporary fare. They also had a run of anthologies. Horror author Robert Bloch (of Psycho fame) adapted several of his own works for Amicus and joked their name was Latin for “no budget.”
