For many genre enthusiasts, a great horror film isn’t just about the acting or the visuals. Without a score that helps set and sustain the proper mood, even the most lushly shot feature tends to fall flat. Now vinyl lovers with a deep appreciation for a well-executed horror score can add a new item to their collection – Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House soundtrack.

Although the streaming edition of the soundtrack has been available for a while now, Waxwork Records has officially announced the upcoming release of a special deluxe vinyl version for collectors. After Hill House first dropped earlier this month, it didn’t take long to become the show everyone was talking about. Masterfully executed extended shots, exceptional writing, and stellar acting performances ensured it was an instant hit fans couldn’t get enough of, so it’s not surprising that people are loving the score as well.

The composers behind the music are the famous Newton Brothers. You already know their work quite well if you’re familiar with such genre hits as Hush, The Bye Bye Man, and Gerald’s Game. Their original score from the film Oculus even received Fangoria Magazine’s Chainsaw Award in the Best Score category. Between them, Taylor and Andy Newton play a wide variety of different musical instruments, including but not limited to cello, saxophone, guitar, piano, flute, and kazoo.

The Haunting of Hill House soundtrack will be released as a double LP set. Each disc will be printed on beautiful luxe colored vinyl featuring an ethereal blue and green swirl pattern. The packaging will come complete with plenty of goodies fans will love as well, including full-color production stills and beautiful printed inserts. If that sounds like something you need in your life, you can officially pre-order your copy from Waxwork Records starting now!
