Netflix’s smash hit The Haunting of Hill House left viewers wondering if there would be more episodes in the future, and if so, where the story would go after the end of season one. Everything had been wrapped up neatly (or so it seemed), and with the huge success of the show, rumors started swirling about a possible second season with a different storyline.

Coming as a surprise to no one, Variety now confirms that what will now simply be called The Haunting has been renewed for a second season on Netflix as an anthology. Season one was based on Shirley Jackson’s novel, and the second season will reportedly be based on the haunted Bly house in Henry James’s horror novella The Turning of the Screw. The second season is titled, “The Haunting of Bly Manor.”

No word on if the entire original cast will be returning, but Mike Flanagan likes to reuse his actors, so it’s likely at least some of the cast will return.

Hill House was an emotional rollercoaster that supplied viewers with plenty of scares, sadness, grief, and heartache; it was as thought-provoking as it was terrifying. Looking forward to getting back on the coaster.
