Jason Blum, head of Blumhouse Productions, is interested in making new Scream and Hellraiser movies. Blum is known for creating his own massively successful horror franchises such as the Conjuring and Paranormal Activity universes; with the success of his sequel to John Carpenter’s Halloween, it’s no surprise that he’s interested in getting into additional established franchises.

Nothing is currently in development, but there have been ideas floating around. In an interview with CinemaBlend, Blum said of making new Scream and Hellraiser films, “Yes, we definitely have [discussed it]. We're looking - there's nothing happening with either one of those things - but we're definitely looking at it, and it's definitely something I'd be open to.” Miramax CEO Bill Block previously hinted to the site that there were more horror franchise revivals on the horizon.

Blum has been dominating the horror space for the past several years. Halloween garnered over $4 billion globally, and Blum is interested in doing a follow up to that film. He signed a deal last year for eight Amazon exclusive horror films. His latest film, Happy Death Day 2U, is currently in theaters.
