Revered horror magazine FANGORIA has long been a staple in horror aficionados’ homes, and since 2018, the team has made a name for themselves with their relaunched film label. Their upcoming seventh film, The Seventh Day, is set to star renowned actor Guy Pearce, and is being billed as Training Day meets The Exorcist. Justin P. Lange is set to direct.

“The Seventh Day follows a renowned exorcist who teams up with a rookie priest for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge,” per Deadline. Lange, who debuted his first horror film The Dark last year, told Collider, “This is a story about the rising spread of a pervasive evil. We live in an increasingly dark world, one where it’s difficult to know who to trust, or what to believe. It’s a scary time, and scary times call for scary movies.”

Rob Galluzzo, who has worked on several horror movies himself and previously launched and headed Dread Central’s film division Epic Pictures’ Dread Central Presents, was named Head of Acquisitions for FANGORIA this summer and has hit the ground running. This September, FANGORIA’s SATANIC PANIC hit theaters through RJLE Films and immediately became an indie favorite of the year.

Fangoria has launched several films through Fangoria Films and Fangoria Presents. They relaunched their brand in 2018 with The Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich.

The Seventh Day is in pre-production, and no release date has been set. Stay tuned.
