Last November, All Horror reported that Dermot Mulroney was set to star in horror connoisseur Patrick Lussier’s Trick. We’ve learned that Mulroney has left the project, and in his place, Omar Epps will take over as no-nonsense Detective Mike Denver.

Detective Denver has an axe to grind with a prolific serial killer who everyone believes has been killed, but whom Denver believes escaped his clutches years ago. Denver’s obsession grows as the years pass, and when it looks like the murderer known only as Trick is racking up bodies again, Denver sees his opportunity to prove that Trick is still alive, and to take him out once and for all.

The screenplay was written by Todd Farmer, who has a long history in the horror genre, including Jason X, The Messengers, and co-wrote the My Bloody Valentine reboot alongside Lussier.

Trick also stars Ellen Adair, Kristina Reyes, Jamie Kennedy, and longtime horror favorite Tom Atkins. Principal photography for the film is underway in New York.
