Pollyanna McIntosh ’s bloody directorial debut Darlin’, the sequel to Lucky McKee’s The Woman, which premiered this March at SXSW, is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on September 3rd. The release comes through indie film distributor Dark Sky Films.

McIntosh also wrote and stars in the film, which follows The Woman’s adopted daughter Darlin’, a feral teen who is taken in by a group of nuns when she needs medical attention. Neither Darlin’ nor The Woman take kindly to the religious zealots trying to tame her; their attempt to groom her into a “good girl” results in deadly consequences.

McIntosh has been making a name for herself in horror recently; she previously starred in Tales of Halloween and The Blood Lands, and she will reprise her role as Anne in the upcoming The Walking Dead film.

Darlin’ was an impressive writing and directorial debut for McIntosh. We’ll get to see her horror directorial chops once again when her segment for anthology Deathcember debuts.

Preorders for Darlin’ are available now on Amazon.
