Arachnophobia reboot on the way

Arachnophobia was an instant classic when it was released all the way back in 1990 and is still considered a cult classic today. Directed by Frank Marshall and starring John Goodman (who went on to star in many other horrors including 10 Cloverfield Lane and my personal favorite, Fallen),  Jeff Daniels and scream queen Harley Jane Kozak (who also starred in I Spit on Your Grave 3 and The House on Sorority Row).

It's about a giant spider from the South American jungle that is accidentally shipped along with a dead body to the States where it mates with a regular 'ol homegrown spider. Problem is, the baby spiders are freakishly smart and very fatal. Before long, people all over a small town in California start dropping dead.

Well, it would seem this classic fan favorite just got the nod to be remade, by none other than one of the biggest names in modern horror James Wan. I'm sure it's needless to say, but James Wan was at the helm for many horror hits including Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring.

This reboot of Arachnophobia is still in its infancy, they have yet to sign a writer, but it's still exciting news to this lifelong fan.

For those who weren't born eons ago, here's what you missed out on.

If you've officially caught the arachnid bug (pun proudly intended) here's a few more spider horror movies to hold you over until the Arachnophobia remake hits theaters:

Kingdom of the Spiders (1977)

Eight Legged Freaks (2002)

Arachnoquake (2012)

Ice Spiders (2007)

Big Ass Spider! (2013)

Spiders (2000)

Spiders 2: Breeding Ground (2001)

Arachnid (2001)

Ok... yeah that's probably more than enough!
