Anthony Michael Hall Cast As Tommy Doyle; More Casting News for ‘Halloween’ Sequel

Anthony Michael Hall Cast As Tommy Doyle; More Casting News for ‘Halloween’ Sequel

by Jessica Gomez on September 02nd, 2019 | |

Halloween Kills, the highly anticipated sequel to David Gordon Green’s 2018 smash hit Halloween, has been finishing up its casting before production begins this fall, and it’s added a big name to its roster.

Tommy Doyle, the child whom Laurie Strode was babysitting on the night he came home, will be back in the fray. Paul Rudd will not resume his memorable role as Tommy from Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers, as he is currently filming Ghostbusters 2020. Another star will take over the role – none other than John Hughes film favorite Anthony Michael Hall.

Hall’s resume spans the course of over three decades, and he’s never shied away from the horror genre; his previous roles include stints on Riverdale, Z Nation, Tales from the Crypt, and the Poltergeist: The Legacy television series.

Real Housewife of Beverly Hills and former child actor Kyle Richards is amping up the nostalgia as she returns to the franchise as Doyle’s friend and neighbor Lindsey Wallace, who was shoved off to Laurie when babysitter Annie wanted to spend some time with her boyfriend.

Halloween Kills will begin where Halloween left off, with Judy Greer reprising her role as Karen, Strode’s daughter, and Andi Matichak as Strode’s granddaughter Allyson. (The two are also slated for the 2021 Halloween Ends, the third film in the trilogy. Will they be our final girls?) Jibrail Nantambu will be back for Halloween Kills as Julian. Writer/Director Nick Castle, who starred as the original Michael Myers in John Carpenter’s classic film, will resume his villainous gait, and, of course, none other than Jamie Lee Curtis will be starring as Laurie Strode in the sequels. Carpenter himself confirmed the news of more Halloween films to come on his twitter account in July.

Green will continue as director for the sequels, and he has teamed up once more with Danny McBride to write the films. Halloween Kills is slated for an October 16th release in 2020, and Halloween Ends is set to premiere October 15th of 2021.
