Fathom Events is putting on a screening for one of the scariest and most notorious sci-fi horror films of all time. Ridley Scott’s Alien turns 40 (!) this year, and to celebrate, theaters around the United States are hosting three screening days for the original film.
Tickets are on sale now for screenings on Sunday, October 13th; Tuesday, October 15th; and Wednesday, October 16th. Most theaters are showing two screenings per day.
In case you haven’t seen it (and I really recommend that you do - it’s a great story with a terrifying monster, and it still holds up after 40 years), the film follows a spacecraft that answers an SOS call after someone is attacked by an unidentified life form. Sigourney Weaver gives an electrifying performance as she fights against the terrifying Alien. I’m sure you’re familiar with the alien-in-stomach scene - how could you miss it on the big screen!?
The film, which originally premiered in theaters on June 22 in 1979, is being presented by Fathom, Turner Classic Movies, and Twentieth Century Fox. Each screening will be accompanied by exclusive insight from TCM.
