Critic Reviews:

This fun throwback thriller (back to when zombies were just zombies and there was little in the way of messaging) is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. ...this Canadian gem focuses on characters and setting first - making us fall in love with the area and the stories which bubble up from its beautiful camping area - and then cranks up the gore. It works.

When it comes to the zombie sub-genre of movies, we know the story will be mostly easy to watch, giving us characters that we know will get what is coming to them in this world, as the zombie numbers increase and the peril the group find themselves in increases. It doesn’t bring anything new, but doesn’t need to, keeping it an easy watch for the zombie environment we are involved in.

This is a simple movie. It’s shot modestly so as not to distract until shit hits the fan at which point anything goes. Then, the editing gets choppy. Then, the blocking gets random. It’s a good thing the film gets back to its default state, a somewhat calm state, whenever it can.
