Though the plot is a bit thin there’s a lot to enjoy in Why Don’t You Just Die! Most of it involving violence, dark humour or both. There’s not really a lot else I can tell you except sit back and enjoy what may be the crime film equivalent of The Evil Dead.
Why Don’t You Just Die! is violence à la Quentin Tarantino – it’s not light on gore, but it has a tinge of the comic book about it. Imagine he’d directed Meet the Parents and you get the idea.
...almost every scene where characters behave like exuberantly sadistic thugs is effectively repulsive. Your mileage may vary as far as how much arterial spray is too much, but Sokolov’s tendency of overdoing things sets apart his movie’s splattery, comically punishing violence.
