Critic Reviews:
Underworld: Blood Wars isn’t a very good movie, not at all. But it’s better than a few other films in the franchise, and that’s surprising, especially as it’s the fifth film of the series.
Newcomers to the Underworld series are likely to get lost in the fast-moving vampire politics and generous smattering of flashbacks, but faithful fans will likely find a serviceable addition to the franchise. It’s an odd thing to say, but the producers really should consider rebooting rather than continuing on Underworld’s current blunt-stake trajectory.
It’s just a bunch of boring talky bits and action scenes that might have seemed cool a decade ago. Underworld: Blood Wars should be avoided at all costs. But then, that was true of the last four movies as well and somehow enough people showed up to keep this lame duck waddling. It’ll probably happen again.
