It’s got a fantastic cast, a smart script, and is ably directed by Christian Nyby (though some contend that producer Howard Hawks actually did most of the work).
It starts off promisingly with researchers in the arctic (cut off from the outside world due to a heavy snowstorm) discovering an alien which has been frozen in ice.
The Thing from Another World is a chilling, atmospheric alien invasion film that employs horror/sci-fi tropes to offer commentary on the Second Red Scare.
