Critic Reviews:

As scripted by Sangster, The Crawling Eye is sharper and more focused than several of its day; the dialogue is snappy, curves are thrown, and the performances are for the most part understated (except for Mitchell, who rightly plays to the nosebleed section).

Ultimately, The Crawling Eye is a film that presents a story with enough suspense and style to hold the audience for the majority of the picture.

Our first look at the monsters, revealed only in the climactic moments of the film, shows them to be satisfyingly hideous, if a bit on the cheesy side.
