Summary

What to Expect

The Banishing was a lot like The Innocents, The Others and The Haunting. It's a British haunted house movie with a lot of long walks down dark hallways, creeky floors and creepy dolls. Its concept is like all the others, beautiful woman happily moves into an ultra old and stuffy manor, and although married, she basically has to live in the place alone with her young daughter, a daughter who instantly makes the clearly threatening ghosts her new best friends. "It wasn't me mummy, it was my new best friend who smeared blood all over the walls! Don't be mad". I'm paraphrasing here, but if you've seen haunted house movies with the naive kid character you know what I mean. The Banishing's not bad, it's not great, it's just there. It's one of those movies that you'll just get used to scrolling past when looking for something good to watch.
