There is a lot to unpack here for a film that clocks in just under 90 minutes, and I’ve only just brushed the surface of this textured, complex, beautifully crafted piece.
Director-writer Steven Adam Renkovish has created a feature-length dramatic tone poem. While clearly meant as an art film, even, perhaps, falling into the experimental category, The Awakening of Lilith is still accessible enough to enjoy as a dark mystery.
At times, the pace is a bit too slow and the acting by some of the supporting characters is not very convincing, however this is still an interesting accomplishment.
