At any rate, The Amityville Playhouse manages to look the part of a horror film, though it's not able to do fuck-all else.
The Amityville Playhouse has little to nothing to do with the events surrounding The Amityville Horror besides both movies being set in Amityville, New York and there being ghosts lurking around.
The film is very light on scares & gore, no surprise considering the age rating (UK – 15) but it does have occasional moments that momentarily chill such as the theatre performance that sees the audience turning to look at Fawn.
