The Amityville Murders covers enough bases to be an average at best horror movie. Oddly, that’s good enough to make it exceptional as an “Amityville” film, considering the low bar of quality applied to anything with that word in the title.
It has been a long time since I saw Amityville II: The Possession, however THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS seem like a unacknowledged remake of Amityville II with 98% less incest.
The Amityville Murders is a sore to behold, a chore to experience, and all-around boondoggle of a horror film that continues my favorite genre’s yearly Amityville rehash tradition with the same destitute results.
