Terrifier 2 (2022)

I recently saw Damien Leone's Terrifier, which features a murderous clown named Art The Clown. The movie was a lot of fun, but what stood out for me were the incredibly gory special effects, particularly the scene where a woman is cleaved in half. Art The Clown is a genuinely sadistic killer, and Thornton brings him to life brilliantly.

Despite its monochromatic color and simple clown makeup, Art is a terrifying image.

Art is a clown who is both like and unlike any other clown you've seen. In addition to being uncontrollably violent and destructive, Art is just plain weird. He looks odd even when he's not doing anything.

Art is similar to Michael Myers from Halloween - he is quiet and seems to enjoy causing pain to his victims. But, like Myers, Art seems to get a power boost from the suffering of others.

Over the years, Terrifier has continued to draw in new fans while maintaining a loyal base of enthusiastic fans.

The events of the first movie have left Art hungry for more victims. So first, he visits the medical examiner's office to collect some new supplies for his bag of torture tools. Then, Art, covered in blood, makes his way to a laundromat where he meets the franchise's latest character, the Little Pale Girl.

The Girl is a representation of Art's dark side. She encourages his violent behavior and enjoys taunting his victims. However, it's unclear whether she's a manifestation of Art's psyche or an evil entity in her own right.

A year has passed since the murders in Miles County, and people are still talking about them. Art has become a kind of figure of fear in the town. One pre-teen, Jonathan, is obsessed with serial killers, Nazis, and Art. His older sister Sienna and their mother, Barbara, disapprove.

Jonathan expressed his desire to wear an Art costume for Halloween, but Barbara denied the idea. Meanwhile, Sienna designs her costume inspired by the Valkyries in Norse mythology.

Art and The Pale Girl are murdering everyone they meet on their way back to Miles County. Sienna begins having bizarre dreams of a creepy Clown Café and Art. Jonathan's obsession with dark things may be because their father used to draw dark pictures.

The closer Art gets to Sienna and Jonathan, the more the audience realizes that the siblings may somehow be connected to the evil clown.

The scene where a woman is sawed in half in the first movie was shocking and talked about because it was so gory and hard to top.

Leone focuses on expanding the mythology of Art and introducing more supernatural aspects rather than trying to recreate the original film. Art is tethered to the movie's final girl, Sienna, in a similar way that Michael is tethered to Laurie Strode.

Director Leone doesn't shy away from gore; the impressive effects and increasingly shocking and disgusting attacks by Art make for an intense moviegoing experience. Some audience members have even reported throwing up during the film.

What separates Terrifier 2 from the original movie is that director Damien Leone allows the story to develop more slowly, giving the audience time to get to know Sienna, Jonathan, and their mother, Barbara. This makes the movie more suspenseful and effectively frightening.

Terrifier 2 is not only a gore-fest that will satisfy horror fans but also a well-crafted movie that builds on the first film's mythology and leaves enough questions unanswered to leave fans wanting more.
