Summary
Ex-soldier Frank Brayker (William Sadler) is the guardian of an ancient key that can unlock tremendous evil; the sinister but charming Collector (Billy Zane) is a demon who wants the key so he can initiate the apocalypse. On the run from wicked mercenaries for almost 90 years, Brayker finally stops in at a boarding house in New Mexico where -- with the help of its quirky residents -- he plans to face off against the Collector and his band of ghouls, preventing them from ever seizing the key.

What to Expect
Demon Knight is about a protector of a key to the gates of hell who holds up in an old church overnight as a demonic collector and his army of demons fight to claim the key. It's a classic battle between good and evil. Basically, there's seven keys that can be used to open the gates of hell. Way back when, a demon was fighting a guy for the final key when some blood from Jesus, crucified on the cross, drips into the key and subsequently defeats the demon. That guy later in life passes on the key to another guy, another protector, after refilling the key with some of his own blood as a way of keep Jesus' seed blood active. Fast-forward nearly 2,000 years and the newest protector is chased into a church-turned-hotel by the newest collector.

Over the years, Demon Knight has had a bit of a critical mauling which seems unwarranted.
I’m proud to say that Demon Night is included in my top 20 favorite horror films of all time.
This is a film that pulls no punches and just goes for it and that’s why it works so well, has held up nicely and is infinitely more fun and entertaining than 99 percent of modern horror.
