Summary

What to Expect

Saw 6 opens up with a couple of poor bastards locked up in cages with traps clamped around their heads. They each have 60 seconds to cut off as much of their own flesh as possible. The one who comes up short gets a couple of bolts drilled deep into their skull. The other gets to walk out a couple pounds of flesh lighter.

This movie, just like all the others, is mostly about an investigation to figure out who's helping Jigsaw. The cops know it's an inside job, they just don't know who it is. And Jigsaw's crew is of course always one step ahead.

Saw 6 traps quite a few people, more than the others up to this point. A couple of guys maybe deserve it if you subscribe to Jigsaw's strict and idealistic "moral" code, but the rest are basically just innocent victims. The movie paints some to be unlikable, but that doesn't really warrant Jigsaw's trumped-up charges.

Saw 6 is pretty much Saw 4 in the way the traps are set up and how the primary victim has to decide whether or not other victims live or die. There's also a lot of flashbacks to Saw 4 which makes it almost feel like a redundant sequel.

Saw VI is one of the weaker sequels, and is one i find myself not watching all that mutch.

Somewhere within the Saw universe’s ridiculously convoluted back story is a film showing how the dying “Jigsaw Killer” John Kramer (Tobin Bell) won the lottery, set up corporate offices, and hired legions of worker elves to build a “torture district” the size of Disneyland. It would be a helluva lot more entertaining than watching his uber-secret second protégé (Mandylor, Mandylor, Costas Mandylor) tiptoe around the events of the previous films, which was all that the abysmal Saw V really had to offer.
