Ringu 2 is a marginally stronger effort than Rasen, if only because it’s a bit more faithful and fits into the franchise a little better.
I honestly didn’t think it could be done, but Hideo Nakata has topped Ring.. Ring 2 is so much scarier.
Ringu 2 has the same great, creepy sound design as the original. It traffics more in rising dread than in blood-chilling scares, for the most part.
