What to Expect

This is a quality Christmas horror, start to finish. My only complaint is that's it's a bit too long, but it's no deal breaker, it's already a part of my annual holiday tradition. The movie has a dark and gritty tone overall which contrasts well with the whole holiday cheer thing. One thing Krampus does especially well is break the cheesy trope of being punished for losing one's Christmas spirit. There's no lessons to be learned. There's no second chances. One kid in a house full of people gets pissy about Christmas and everyone's screwed, it's awesome. Krampus himself is a threatening beast. The dude kills kids, he's no joke. His elves are maniacs.
