Critic Reviews:

Despite its pacing issues and some ridiculous plot elements, I Was a Teenage Werewolf is a remarkable horror film. With a limited budget, Gene Fowler jr delivers a meaningful exploration of growing up, and the dangers posed by exploitative authority figures.

Providing a scientific twist on a supernatural legend, I Was a Teenage Werewolf may appeal to B-movie buffs and fans of the sci-fi/horror crossover genre. Worth highlighting in particular is Landon’s portrayal of Tony Rivers—a victim of both his own shortcomings and the experiments of a deranged mad doctor.

The biggest gripe I personally had with IWATW was the werewolf label. [...] No association with the moon, no silver bullets, no connection to the supernatural.
