Critic Reviews:

Jason Lives is too jokey for unadulterated horror tastes and too underdeveloped for sophisticated satisfaction. But hey, if all a “Friday the 13th” fan wants is Jason turning wayward campers, corporate retreaters, a canoodling couple, and a drunk cemetery caretaker into mulch, albeit somewhat plainly, “Jason Lives” certainly has that in spades.

Jason Lives is the most balanced movie of the series. It is also the most “80s” of the series and I love it.

Overall, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives is arguably the strongest film in the franchise. It has a sense of humor that appeals to fans of the series as well as those skeptical of it, the staple methods of Jason's killings, a committed plot, and the formative return of who makes the series breathe air.
