Certainly, you cannot knock Eight Legged Freaks for being exactly what it sets out to be. Eight Legged Freaks is designed entirely as a big B movie with CGI effects and that is exactly what one gets.

Unlike other monster movies that strive for sincere horror only to fail miserably, “Eight Legged Freaks” never tries to be serious, making it a tougher comparison when it also fizzles during key moments.
True, Eight Legged Freaks adheres to a ton of the great and memorable monster movie tropes, but writers Elkayem and Alexander also restructure a lot of the classic character archetypes that we’re used to seeing in this kind of movie.
