Cruel Summer is a truly horrific, hard-to-watch film based on true events that painfully reminds us of the awful things people do in real life.
CRUEL SUMMER is almost simple to a fault, but succeeds as a low-budget excursion into bleakness. Due to the content, the film is, in essence, a one-time watch that lacks any details or content that would be truly worthy of repeat viewings.
Unapologetic, unwavering, and uneasy to stomach, Cruel Summer still manages to reel in its viewers and shake them with a matter-of-fact seriousness that even the blindest eye cannot ignore.
