Child's Play 2 (1990)

At the end of the original Child's Play Chucky got burned, dismembered and shot through the heart. He was toast. So how does he come back in Child's Play 2? Simple. The CEO of Play Pal Toys, maker of the Good Guy dolls, has Chucky restored as a way of proving to his shareholders that his dolls are safe. Of course, the second Chucky is resurrected he kills the first poor bastard he sees.

This was all well and good for Chucky, a killer's gotta kill, but what happened to Andy and his mom? Well, Andy got stuck in state custody while waiting to be handed over to foster care and his mom is locked up in a padded room somewhere. There's no happy ending for anyone who comes across Chuck.

Child's Play 2 starts fast. Chucky wastes no time killing his way to Andy, who's now living with his new foster family. From this point forward it's a race for Chucky to perform his soul swapping ritual on Andy so he can get out of the doll. This sequel is more of a traditional slasher. There's more stalking, more suspense and a lot more kills. Chucky basically wipes out everyone in Andy's world, other than Kyle, a fellow foster kid and sidekick. This was an awesome follow up to Child's Play. It not only gives you more of what you want to see in Chuck but fleshes out the story enough to fill in all the gaps. It also unleashes the Chucky we all know and love. He was a feisty little serial killing bastard in part 1, but his firecracker personality really lets loose in this one.
