Critic Reviews:

Ankle Biters was funny and it was something different. I had a feeling about the ending but wasn’t sure. The kills and the make-up effects are pretty crazy. They did a good job. Marianthi Evans does a good job of truly being serious. This is why you should explain stuff to your kids.

Also known as Cherrypicker, the movie is entertaining to watch, at moments intriguing, and with a few moments to share a laugh. The four sisters do a surprisingly good performance taking into consideration their age and the fact that they are pretty much the stars of the film. And the adult actors also accomplish their duties positively, although at times they seem to be lost by the chaotic direction. It all works as a simple and entertaining product, but the original story had more potential than what we can see in the final result.

Writer/director Bennet De Brabandere has executed a disconcerting lake house thriller thinking it’s in some way comedic. It is with that intention that Brabandere misses the mark. If he had recognized the potential of his original idea and gone in the vein of The Bad Seed (1956) and The Omen (1976), Ankle Biters would really be a stunner. Instead, he keeps the mood light.
