Critic Reviews:

Not only is Amityville Uprising not better than The Amityville Moon, it ends up being on the same level as Amityville Poltergeist and Amityville in the Hood. And that didn’t have to be the case, the plot had potential but Churchill failed to do anything with it. He also wasted both Ferguson and Scott, two actors who have proven they can play imposing characters when they have the material and direction.

Clocking in at 85 minutes and featuring an annoying female character who constantly gives everybody crap for not being able to pay for a standard ticket, "Uprising" is part unintentional comedy, part cop buffoonery, and part B-movie horror swipe. It ends abruptly and unhappily, not knowing what it wants to be or what it really wants to say.

...no one comes to an Amityville zombie movie thirsting for father-son bonding or cringey sketch comedy performed by people with questionable acting abilities. Unfortunately, you’re going to get far more of the latter than you are of the former, because "Amityville Uprising" is about as ditheringly dry as throwaway thrillers get.
