Summary

A new family moves into the house on Elm Street, and before long, the kids are again having nightmares about deceased child murderer Freddy Krueger. This time, Freddy attempts to possess a teenage boy to cause havoc in the real world, and can only be overcome if the boy's sweetheart can master her fear.

What to Expect

A Nightmare On Elm Street 2 is a complete deviation in both style AND concept from the original. No familiar music, no familiar cast and no familiar motives. Sure, Freddy's still slicing up teens... but for no apparent reason. They're not the kids of parents responsible for his death. They also tried taking the sleep aspect out completely, having Freddy possess a guy instead so that he could run amok killing anyone at-will. He didn't even have his glove, the blades just started coming out of the guys fingers. This sequel is widely regarded to be the weakest of the franchise, but luckily only a blip on the radar since everything became much more familiar starting in part 3.
